Girls Night Out - Northwestern Athletics

Northwestern University athletes are helping us with our Family Reading Night Thursday, Nov. 19, so we would like to promote their program this Saturday.

Busy October!

Morton Grove Public Library's Youth Services Department visited, hosted or received visits from 2450 children and adults in October.
Leaves and temperatures are falling, but MGPL is always the blooming, hot place to be. Pictures from October Events include:

10/6/09 - Simulcast from Mo Willems' Studio - over 180 children and adults enjoyed hearing about Elephant, Piggie, the Pigeon and Knuffle Bunny. Thanks to Park View third grades and Bessie Rhodes first grades for joining us.
10/6/09 Chess Club - A High School chess player joined our players taking them on in multiple matches.
10/12/09 - Many Schools were off for Columbus Day and families came to the Library to see Paul Lee's Magic Show - in fact we had to add a second show!

The rain didn't stop our "Wimpy" kids from attending a party celebrating the release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. 

Mo Willems visits MGPL (Virtually) 10/6/09

MGPL was chosen as one of 200 sites nationwide US and Canada to visit LIVE with Mo Willems in his studio. We had over 180 children and adults in our Baxter Room Auditorium. Four third grade classes from Park View and two first grade classes from Bessie Rhodes school as well as children from Melzer School and home schoolers heard the debut of his latest book Pigs make Me Sneeze.

Back-to-School Rally Rock,Paper,Scissors Tournament 9/15/09

What a great time! Eight faculty and staff competed as well as 105 students from eight different schools. The winner was a first grade student from Park View School. Pictures from the event.

Summer Reading Program - Pool Party 8.8.08

Congratulations to all participants of our Read on the Wild Side Summer Reading Program. Those children and their families were invited to a Pool Party at Harrer Pool. Almost 300 people attended.
